For this project our client was looking for assistance in the finishing details after her primary bedroom and ensuite renovation. We were happy to select paint colours, new flooring and furniture, and to design and install a custom made bed, as well as custom window coverings and bed linens, pillow and accent cushions.
New furniture includes a French style king platform bed, custom designed and manufactured by Outlooks Design, complemented with a bench from Chintz & Company in a Fleur de Lis fabric print, and night stands and comfy chair from Jordans Casual.
Bespoke top of the bed fabrications include white on white and grey bedding with a lovely stitching detail that evokes a quilted look from days gone by. The luxurious bed covering was crafted using a diamond Matelasse fabric, adding rows of stitching detail along the hemline for the coverlet and shams.
A down duvet with a reversible cover in white and grey, placed at the foot of the bed, is ever ready for more warmth. We used charcoal damask fabric for finishing touch cushions, and the emu feather pillow takes center stage.
Elsewhere, soft voile sheers frame the window and a Nantucket Silhouette shade by Hunter Douglas offers light control for sleeping. The ensuite window has a complementary shade to tie in both rooms.
The new wool broadloom flooring was supplied and installed by Hourigan’s Flooring and features a cream background with a grey diamond motif that mirrors the coverlet.
All in all, a very soothing sanctuary our homeowner was delighted by.
